Governor Nikki Haley is taking action by calling for the removal of the controversial Southern Confederate flag from the State House building in South Carolina.
This decision was brought to light just after Dylann Roof fatally shot nine members of the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church.
“In the worst of tragedies, we have seen the best of South Carolina. Today, I am urging that the Confederate battle flag be removed from statehouse grounds to an appropriate location. I hope that, by removing the flag, we can take another step towards healing and recognition.”
Some feel this action is only being taken seriously because it was a group of caucasion southerners protesting for the flags removal.
